“A Room of one’s own” is a body of work that details a heroine’s journey of liberation and reclaiming autonomy after a period of literal and figurative displacement; an exploration of self identity and perception through the spaces we inhabit and the freedom we feel to express ourselves when we feel safe and at home in our bodies and our environments. Merging abstract forms with a figure caught between various states of dissociation and perceived reality. My work makes use of shadows, reflections, and shifting perspectives to highlight the tension between the inner and outer worlds as well as encouraging viewers to question their own perceptions and experiences in relation to my work.
